Dillenburg is a medium-sized centre in the Lahn-Dill district and has carried the additional designation "Oranienstadt" since November 2017. The town lies on the German Half-Timbered Houses Road and is the end point of the Rothaarsteig; the Wilhelmsturm on the Schlossberg is its landmark.
